At CoworkingResouces we're committed to the development of the coworking industry and we want to cover every aspect of it; however, we notice a lack of insight surrounding coworking news, data and market trends. This makes finding relevant information and statistics difficult for owners, managers and individuals planning to launch a space. That's why we're proud to introduce our first "Coworking Openings of the Month" roundup. On this list, we've included all the new opening announcements across the globe. In addition to covering openings, we provide insights on what locations are growing the most, which chains are gaining market share, etc. Check out our list if, like the rest of us, you're struggling to find coworking information and news near you.
Trends in the United States
We identified 68 announced openings in the U.S. Check out what states lead the pack:
- New York: 9 new spaces
- California: 7 new spaces
- Texas: 6 new spaces
This means that roughly one in three U.S. openings are happening in these three states. New York leads despite having a smaller population than California and Texas.
International Trends
Coworking is thriving in the United Kingdom, and while the U.K. tech scene is often associated with London, only four of the 15 openings happened there. This is a positive sign that shared workspaces are serving smaller communities.
The industry is gaining momentum in Asia. Jakarta, Bangkok and Singapore counted the most openings.
